Grammy nominated r&b singer and guitarist James Hunter has become, in his own words, an overnight success that has taken 20 years. After touring Britain's blues clubs for two decades, James found instant stardom with his first American release, 2006's People Gonna Talk, which reached number one on the Billboard Blues Chart, earned a Grammy nomination and led to tours with the likes of Aretha Franklin, Los Lonely Boys, Boz Scaggs and Van Morrison. His mellifluous r&b, with its affectionate echoes of Sam Cooke, Georgie Fame and Jackie Wilson, became an airplay staple on some of America's most influential radio stations and received heavy praise from the likes of Rolling Stone and MOJO magazines. Back home, Britain's finest soul man and his skin tight band, featuring drums, bass and brass, continue to tear through venues with their incendiary live shows. Now widely regarded as one of the nation's finest soul and blues guitarists, James has recorded session for the likes of BBC Radio 2's Paul Jones and Mark Lamarr and appeared on BBC2's Later…With Jools Holland.
